I especially agree with the part about setting client expectations. When clients ask me for a "guarantee" I always say no. With the caveat that if we do our homework and research correctly enough, we'll have a very good chance of getting on page one of Google. What I do guaranree, is that if we do nothing, their rankings won't improve. You articulated many of the things that I think about but never wrote down.
